Common questions
Taps feel off-beat with Bluetooth headphones. What can I do?
TapAlong compensates for your audio route's hardware latency automatically, including Bluetooth. If timing still feels off, open Settings and run "Calibrate with metronome" — you tap along to a click track and the app measures your personal offset. You can also fine-tune the audio offset slider in Settings.
I hit my import limit. How do I add more songs?
The free tier holds three imported songs at a time — deleting one frees a slot, and the starter tracks never count. TapAlong Pro, a one-time $2.99 purchase, removes the limit entirely.
I bought TapAlong Pro but it shows as locked. How do I restore it?
Tap "Restore Purchases" on the paywall or in Settings while signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with. The unlock is tied to your Apple ID, not the device.
A song won't import. Why?
TapAlong imports MP3, WAV, M4A, and AIFF files up to 15 minutes long. Songs from streaming services like Apple Music or Spotify can't be imported because they're DRM-protected. The app shows a specific error message when an import fails — include it if you contact support.
Does TapAlong send my music anywhere?
No. Imported audio is analyzed and stored only on your device and never leaves it. See the privacy policy for exactly what anonymous data the app does collect.
Reporting a bug
Bug reports are gold. The fastest way to get something fixed is to email admin@gelotto.io with:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version
- The TapAlong version (shown on the App Store page)
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
- For import problems: the file's format and length (never send the audio file itself)
- A screenshot or screen recording if you can
