Privacy Policy
Effective July 27, 2026
TapAlong is an iPhone rhythm game made by Gelotto. This policy explains what data the app handles, what it deliberately never touches, and the choices you have. Questions are always welcome at admin@gelotto.io.
The short version
- Your music never leaves your phone. Songs you import are analyzed and played entirely on your device. Audio is never uploaded, and we can't hear or see it.
- No account, no ads, no tracking. TapAlong has no sign-in, shows no ads, and does not track you across other apps or websites. It never uses the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- We do collect anonymous analytics and crash reports so we can fix bugs and improve the game. None of it is linked to your identity.
What the app collects
TapAlong uses two Google services: Google Analytics for Firebase (in ads-free mode) for anonymous usage statistics, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports. Through them, the app collects:
| Data | What it means | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifiers | Random Firebase app-instance and installation IDs — generated for this install, not tied to you or your Apple ID | Distinguishing installs in analytics and crash reports |
| Product interaction | Anonymous gameplay events — for example that a song was started, completed, or abandoned, which screens were visited, and aggregate accuracy figures. Songs are identified only by a content fingerprint, never by title or file name | Understanding which parts of the game work well |
| Purchase history | Anonymous purchase-funnel events (for example that the paywall was shown or a purchase completed). Payment details never reach the app — Apple processes all payments | Understanding whether the unlock is working as intended |
| Coarse location | Country/region derived from IP address by Google — standard for Firebase Analytics. The app never asks for device location | Regional usage statistics |
| Crash data | Stack traces and device/OS details when the app crashes or hits an internal error | Finding and fixing bugs |
All of this is declared in the App Store privacy label as “Data Not Linked to You.” None of it is used for advertising or for tracking as Apple defines it, which is why TapAlong never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
What the app never collects
- Your imported audio, song titles, or file names — imported music stays on your device.
- Your name, email, contacts, photos, or precise location.
- Any advertising identifier. TapAlong shows no ads and has no ad SDKs.
Purchases
TapAlong offers one optional in-app purchase, TapAlong Pro ($2.99, one time). Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; the app never sees your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store terms, and you can restore a previous purchase from the paywall or the Settings screen.
Data retention
Analytics and crash data are processed and retained by Google under its standard Firebase policies — see Firebase Privacy and Security and Google's Privacy Policy. We keep no other copies of your data, because nothing else ever reaches us.
Children
TapAlong is rated 4+ and contains no targeted content, ads, or social features. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the analytics described above are anonymous for every player.
Your choices
- Deleting the app removes all local data — your imported songs, charts, scores, and settings.
- If you have questions about analytics data associated with your install, contact us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If we change how TapAlong handles data, we will update this page and its effective date before the change ships.
